Wendy & Graham’s Ardencote Wedding

Wendy and Graham’s wedding was the first wedding I have photographed at Ardencote and they chose a great venue – the highlight being the island on the lake where they had their outdoor ceremony! It’s in the Warwickshire countryside just outside Warwick, so only a short journey for me from Leamington Spa.

Graham got ready at their family home in Kenilworth whilst Wendy got ready at Ardencote with their three daughters in a room looking out over the lake where the ceremony was held. They all seemed to enjoy being pampered in the morning whilst looking forward to putting on their dresses and their Jimmy Choo shoes!

It was a lovely warm day so they could have their wedding ceremony outside on a small island surrounded by a beautiful lake. Graham, staying true to his Scottish roots wearing a kilt along with his brother, didn’t seem to show any signs of nerves as he waited excitedly for his bride to be to arrive. Wendy looked stunning as she walked down the aisle with her brother and the sun stayed out for the whole ceremony!

After the ceremony there was a drinks reception next to the bar and outside alongside the lake. After chatting to their friends and family for a while, it was time for a few family photos before taking Wendy and Graham off for a some couple photos down by lake where the ceremony was held. Then it was time for food! Speeches followed with a perfect mix of humor and emotional moments.

Their first dance included a surprise confetti canon being fired, covering the entire dance floor – lucky I was ready for it! Their guests joined them on the dance floor afterwards, thanks to a bit of ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ by Queen getting everyone going. After photographing friends and fmaily throwing some shapes on the dance floor we took a couple of evening portraits of Wendy and Graham before leaving them to get back on the dance floor.

Here are a few shots from their amazing day!
