When Vicks and Gary first got in touch with me about shooting their wedding, they said it going to be a festival themed wedding and they had a name for it… Wed Zeppelin – I was sold straight away!
The wedding was held in a field next to Vicks’ parents’ house in Grandborough, Warwickshire. They had two massive tipis setup with a stage in each one for the bands, food vans outside for the wedding breakfast, and plenty of outside space. One of the tipis was setup for the wedding breakfast and had a small stage where they had their first dance and the other had a bigger stage and importantly, a bar!
Their ceremony was held at the local church in Grandborough, St Peter’s Church. It was only a few minutes walk from Vicks’ parents’ house so it was just a short walk back to the tipis after the ceremony. As with all outdoor weddings, I’m always praying that the weather stays good and apart from a very small shower the rain held off all day.
Gary organised a surprise for Vicks just before their wedding breakfast – a Chinese Dragon Dance! Not something I’d seen at a wedding before but a great idea and everyone seemed to love it!
The evening entertainment kicked off with an acoustic set by the very talented Tom Figgins, followed by the funk band’s first set. Then Vicks and Gary had their first dance before the Chas & Dave tribute band played – filling the dance floor! We left them to enjoy the second set from the funk band and headed home after a great wedding!
