Vics and Matt’s marque wedding was another local Warwickshire wedding. They got married at Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall and had their reception in Vics’ parents’ garden in Snitterfield. Although summer had officially ended and it was an autumn wedding, they were blessed with beautiful sunshine all day!
I had met up with Vics and Matt around a month before their wedding day to do a pre-wedding shoot as they felt a little uneasy about being photographed. We met up in the evening, an hour or so before sunset, in the countryside behind Compton Verney, where they walk their dog. It was warm and dry but unfortunately we didn’t get much of a sunset… I still got plenty of nice shots of them together which they loved and set their fears at ease!
On the day of their wedding I arrived at Vics’ parents’ house in the morning for the bridal prep. The marque was setup in the garden with all the table laid and ready so I started with some photos in there before joining Vics and her bridesmaids doing their hair and makeup, all in one of the bedrooms. Once everyone was ready I got a lift with Vics’ mum to the ceremony at Stratford Town Hall to avoid any parking issues in the town centre.
The town hall in Stratford is beautiful, with huge windows letting in plenty of light – makes a nice change from a dark church! It was a lovely ceremony followed by plenty of hugs and celebrations outside… then everyone headed back to Vics’ parents’ house for the reception. It remained bright and sunny throughout the afternoon until the sun started to set in the early evening. This was the perfect opportunity to take a few portraits of Vics and Matt on their own – the warm evening light was incredible!
Then it was time for the wedding breakfast with the speeches following on after the food. It then flowed nicely into the cake cutting and first dance before the the party started! After shooting a busy dance floor for a while we set up a final night time shot of Vics and Matt before leaving them to enjoy the rest of their night.
