Laura & Ryan’s Wroxall Abbey Wedding

I first met Laura and Ryan all the way back in March 2017 when they first got in touch about me shooting their wedding. We met at their wedding venue, Wroxall Abbey, and got on well so they booked me a few days later. Fast forward to June 2018 and we met up again for a pre-wedding shoot at Crackley Woods just outside Kenilworth. It was a during the crazy summer heatwave so it was a hot day but luckily there was plenty of shade in the woods. We spent a couple of hours walking around chatting stopping for photos whenever I spotted a good location. I think it really helped relax them about having their photos taken on their wedding day and we got some great shots!

On their wedding day I arrived at Laura’s parents’ house in the morning where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. Their house is in Solihull, only five minutes from St Alphege Church where the ceremony was held. Although the weather forecast suggested it would rain, we got lucky and avoided rain for most of the day apart from a light shower during the drinks reception at Wroxall Abbey. Wroxall Abbey is a beautiful country house in the Warwickshire countryside, just outside Warwick which had plenty of room inside and outside so that few minutes of rain didn’t disrupt anything except for delaying a few group shots.

There was such a relaxed and fun atmosphere which really shone during the speeches. Everyone’s faces must have been hurting after all that laughing – so much fun to photograph! We squeezed in a few evening shots of Laura and Ryan before the evening party kicked off with their first dance. You can never really tell how lively a dance floor is going to be and this was good one – we stayed to capture plenty of crazy dancing before leaving them to enjoy the rest of their evening.
