Cripps Barn in Bibury was the venue for Laura and Mark’s autumn wedding. It’s a stunning Cotswold stone barn in the Gloucestershire countryside with incredible flagstone floors, an open fire place and a terrace with fire pits.
The day before their wedding storm Brian had been sweeping across the country bringing 70mph winds and heavy rain. By Sunday, however, the weather in Gloucestershire at least, had calmed down to a gentle wind in the morning with light clouds and a bit of sunshine. The weather remained a mix of cloudy and sunny for most of the day with only a light shower of rain in the afternoon to add a bit of fun to the group shots!

Laura got ready with her bridesmaids at The New Inn in the Cotswold village of Coln St Aldwyns whilst Mark was getting ready at Casina Cottage, which is almost next door. I love it when the bride and groom get ready at such close locations to each other as it makes it possible to capture both without missing the crucial moments… it also helped that I had an awesome second shooter helping me out!
In the morning Laura had let me know that there would probably be a tear or two from Mark when she walked down the aisle and he didn’t disappoint. The rest of the ceremony was full of laughter and smiles. I love a ceremony full of emotions! After the ceremony it was warm enough for everyone to enjoy drinks and canapés on the terrace outside making the most of the sun’s fleeting appearances. The speeches followed the wedding breakfast and they were genuinely brilliant, some of the best I’ve seen!
Wedding Photos at Cripps Barn
They had the amazing magician, Darren Campbell, there to entertain guests until it was time for Laura and Mark’s first dance. Not that it was a first dance according to Laura, more of a spin around the dance floor before until everyone else joined in. The dance floor was packed with the incredible Brass Junkies getting everyone up and grooving until we left.
Here’s some photos from their amazing day…
