This wedding has been in my blog queue for sometime now… and what better time than now to actually post it! My good friend and fellow photographer Peter Hughes asked me if I’d like to go to Malta to shoot a wedding with him, obviously I jumped at the chance! I love travelling to new places and having never been to Malta before this was such an exciting opportunity. A few days away in the sun with an awesome wedding right in the middle of it – amazing!

Charli and Ste, the bride and groom, were such amazing people. They were super chilled and all their guests were so friendly – it was an absolute pleasure to photograph their wedding! They got ready at the same villa together where they’d been staying with friends in the lead up to the day. As we arrived a few friends were chilling around the pool whilst Charlie was having her hair and makeup done upstairs. Ste got ready with his groomsmen downstairs so they didn’t see each other before the ceremony. It was the perfect start to a wedding day.
The wedding venue is on the outskirts of the village of Mgarr on the way to Gnejna Bay. Castello Zammitello is absolutely stunning! Beautiful Norman style architecture with a truly rustic Mediterranean feel. I’d recommend Castello Zamitello to anyone looking to get married abroad in the sunshine!
When you think destination weddings, you automatically think of the sea, well, at least I do. Castello Zammitello isn’t far from the sea so we went on a short drive to the cliffs looking over Gnejna Bay for a few portraits just before sunset. Then we returned to the venue to get the evening party started!
It was such a privilege to be asked to fly over to Malta to shoot this beautiful wedding – thanks again Peter!
